What is a IMAP


IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) ek protocol hai jo email messages ko server par store karta hai, aur aapko multiple devices se apne emails access karne ki suvidha deta hai. Iska fayda yeh hai ke saare devices (jaise mobile, laptop, etc.) par aapka email account sync rehta hai, aur aap kisi bhi device se apne emails ko manage kar sakte hain.

IMAP Ka Kaam Kaise Karta Hai?

Emails Server Par Stored Rehte Hain: Jab aap IMAP use karte hain, to aapke emails server par stored rehte hain. Matlab aapka phone, laptop ya kisi bhi device par jab aap email dekhenge, wo sab device pe sync ho jayenge.

Multiple Devices Se Access: Aap apne email account ko multiple devices (mobile, laptop, tablet) pe setup kar sakte hain. Jab bhi aap kisi device pe email read, delete ya move karte hain, wo change baaki devices pe bhi show hota hai.

Email Folders Ko Manage Karna: IMAP ke zariye aap apne emails ko folders mein organize kar sakte hain, jaise "Inbox," "Sent," "Drafts," ya apne custom folders. Yeh folders server pe stored hote hain, aur har device par aapke folders same rehte hain.

IMAP Ki Example:

Maan lijiye, aapne apne email account ko apne phone aur laptop dono pe configure kiya hai, IMAP ke zariye.

          Jab aap apne phone par ek email read karte hain, to wo email server par mark ho jaata hai as read.

          Jab aap apne laptop par login karte hain, to wahan par bhi wo email read dikhai dega, kyunki server pe changes ho gayi thi.

IMAP vs POP3:

          IMAP: Emails server par stored rehte hain, aur multiple devices se access kar sakte hain.

          POP3: Emails aapke device pe download hote hain, aur server se delete ho jaate hain. Isme multiple devices se access karna mushkil hota hai.

Ports:

          Port 143: Default port for IMAP.

          Port 993: Secure IMAP connection (SSL ke saath).
