1. A ROUTER IS A NETWORKING DEVICE THAT FORWARDS DATA PACKETS BETWEEN COMPUTER NETWORKS. 

2. ROUTERS PERFORM THE TRAFFIC DIRECTING FUNCTIONS BETWEEN NETWORKS AND ON THE GLOBAL INTERNET.

3. DATA SENT THROUGH A NETWORK, SUCH AS A WEB PAGE OR EMAIL, IS IN THE FORM OF DATA PACKETS.

DISSADDVANTAGES OF ROUTER

1. ROUTER IS MORE EXPENSIVE COMPARE TO OTHER NETWORK DIVCES.

2. ROUTER ARE COMPLEX TO MAINTAIN.

3. SECURITY ISSUE.
